When looking for the best backpacks for amusement parks, there are a lot of different things to think about.

For me, first I need to decide what I want that backpack to hold.  Am I taking snacks?  Am I including a medical kit?  Do I need a sweater or jacket?  Before I even think about the backpack itself, I need a list of what will go into that backpack.  After all, the last thing I want is to have either a backpack that is too heavy or that is so big, or too small.  So, let’s delve into some ideas that will help you and I make the right choice in choosing the perfect backpack.  As an amazon associate, I earn from qualifying purchases – thanks for supporting my small business!

Lightweight Backpacks

For me, this is absolutely the most important factor.  I don’t want a backpack that weighs a ton before I even put my items into it.  I want it to be easy to carry, easy to access and I want it to be especially lightweight.  I want my lightweight backpack to be comfortable to wear during long days at the amusement parks. Most lightweight backpacks are made from durable yet lightweight materials like nylon or polyester. Some of the brands like Osprey, REI, and Patagonia offer excellent options in this category.

Here are a few of my favorites and some of the ones that my family has chosen to carry.  This Osprey is a great choice for a small backpack.  It is highly rated, comes in a variety of colors and weighs only .75 pounds.

This Patagonia sling backpack weighs only .66 pounds.  It is very well made and comes in black.  Though it won’t hold larger items such as extra shoes or a laptop, it will hold a variety of snacks and a first aid kit.   A perfect choice for those that need a smallish pack to hold minimal items such as cell phones, cards and ID.

Colombia makes this backpack quite a bit roomier all while keeping the backpack itself at a weight of only .66 pounds.  It will hold a laptop, jacket, shoes and other items that are essential.   This organized pack also includes, a front accessory pocket, perfect for chargers, cables, and other key travel essentials. A water-bottle sleeve is super useful especially with little ones in tow.  This pack comes in a variety of beautiful colors.

Compact Size and Water Resistant

Another thing to consider is size.  Walking through an amusement park all day can be tiring.  Choose a backpack that is smaller.  The last thing I want to do is to bump into people all day with an oversized backpack.   Look for a backpack that is compact and easy to maneuver through crowds and attractions. There are lots of choices and lots of different brands to choose from.  I love this G4Free Slingbag.  It’s small(15.55×8.26×3.3inch), strong, sturdy, and compact but with separated spaces to organize little items. The strap and the back are thickly padded for a comfortable carry. The adjustable strap adds stability and security for different purposes. It is strong enough to hold a bottle, and a zipper pocket large enough to hold your travel gear: phone, purse, keys, a small tablet.  A perfect choice for a fun day at the amusement park.

This durable backpack is water resistant and is made to last.  Amusement parks often involve water rides or unexpected rain showers. This G4Free sling bag will help protect your belongings, especially electronics and important documents.

Multiple Compartments

Some may want to choose a backpack with multiple compartments to keep your items organized and easily accessible. I like this Adidas backpack for it’s storage capacity, but, it does weigh a little more than the options listed earlier in this article.

Weighing in at  1 pound, it is slightly heavier.  This pack does have a lifetime warranty, and provides loadSpring shoulder straps that help ease the weight.  It boasts wipe-able material for easy spot cleaning with soap and water.  With 5 outside zippered pockets, and internal zippered organization pocket, this backpack might be a great choice for that fun day at an amusement park.  This pack has pockets, sections, and compartments that allow you to store items like water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a small umbrella.

Security Features

Amusement parks can be crowded, so it’s crucial to have security features like lockable zippers or hidden pockets to keep your valuables safe. Anti-theft backpacks with hidden compartments and slash-proof materials are also worth considering.  I love the TravelOn line of purses and backpacks.

This one boasts slash-proof adjustable straps that helps prevent thieves from cutting the strap and taking the bag.  It has slash-proof body panels that helps prevent thieves from slashing the bottom of the bag and taking its contents.  It boasts locking compartments and straps to help protect from pickpockets and grab and go thieves.  It also has RFID Blocking Card and Passport Slots to protect your identity from electronic pickpockets.  The size is 12 x 16 x 6 and weighs only 1.15 pounds.  Choose a backpack with breathable materials or mesh panels to allow air circulation and minimize sweating, especially during hot summer days.

Extra Features To Consider

Some backpacks come with additional features like built-in charging ports for your devices, such as this Paude backpack.  This pack includes a USB port with built-in cable and offers great convenience to charge your phone while walking.

Be sure to check the amusement park’s rules and regulations regarding backpack sizes and restrictions before making a purchase.  Though most parks do allow backpacks, they do have rules as to what can be placed in those packs.  Check with the park well beforehand.  Make sure that your pack follows the rules for the specific park that you intend to visit.

I hope that you have a great time the next time you visit the amusement park of your choice.  Fill your backpack with lots of helpful items and don’t forget to take lots of pictures to remember that special day.  Oh, and if you need help choosing a great camera, I have some great ideas for you!!!

Until next time.
